I was born and raised in Philadelphia. As a young man I worked for my grandfather, Sam “Doc” Abrahams, in his pharmacy. Doc taught me the importance of serving others, to help make this world a better place.
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.
The following year, I began working for a law firm that represented longshoremen at the Philadelphia waterfront and children who were injured due to unsafe conditions in their neighborhoods.I convinced many of Penn’s engineering professors to serve as experts on behalf of our clients.
I then attended New York Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1980. In honor of Doc Abrahams, I returned to Philly to serve my community, representing people who were injured and their families. In each instance, I found that my clients’ lives were changed, sometimes irreparably, as the result of the carelessness of another person, company or professional.
For over 30 years I have prosecuted cases where my clients have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, injured while in another’s home or business, injured while at work because the workplace or machinery was unsafe, or injured because a doctor or lawyer or other professional in whom they placed their trust, failed to serve them with the level of care they deserved.
I bring a unique perspective to the law through my background in the sciences. My focus on the “mechanism of injury,” allows me to investigate your case, discover and preserve a foundation of evidence necessary to prove your case.

For over 10 years, I have served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Judges Pro Tempore are senior members of the Bar who, at the invitation of the Court, preside pro bono at mandatory settlement conferences for trial-ready Major Jury cases.
